Days 1–4: Bali — the Soft Landing
Bali opens the arc because that is where the long-haul flights land and where jet lag is easiest to shed. Give it four unhurried days rather than a checklist sprint.
Base the first two nights in Ubud for rice-terrace walks, the Campuhan ridge at dawn and a slow museum-and-market afternoon. Move to the coast — Sanur for calm, Uluwatu for cliffs — for nights three and four. Days 8–11: The Sailing Leg — Moyo, Satonda and Komodo

Days 12–14: Labuan Bajo and Western Flores
Ending in Labuan Bajo means the trip finishes at its crescendo, not in an airport queue. Three shore days let you revisit the park at your own pace and land softly.
Check into a hilltop hotel, take a long shower and watch the harbour turn gold. Use day thirteen for whatever the crossing rationed: a return to Padar, a snorkel day among the reefs, or nothing at all beside a pool. Connecting the Islands: Fly, Sail or Ferry

Bali–Lombok is the easy joint: roughly two hours by fast boat or half an hour by air. When to Sail the Arc
The dry season runs April to November, and the Flores Sea is at its calmest from April through October. Inside that window, two shoulder periods give you the best of everything.
April–June and September–November are the sweet spots: settled seas, thinner crowds at Padar and Pink Beach, and manta activity that holds through the season. July and August sail beautifully too, but they are high season — the best cabins and the luxury boats book out first, so commit three to four months ahead. December to March is the wet season; Bali and Lombok still work well on land, but scheduled crossings thin out and the sea asks more of you.
Stretching the Arc to Three Weeks
With a third week, keep sailing east on land: the Trans-Flores highway turns the finish line into a second act. This is where Flores stops being a gateway and becomes the destination.
