Sail first, drive second
Almost every good Flores itinerary puts the boat at the front. You arrive rested, the park is at its best in the first mornings, and the sailing sets the pace for everything after it.
The overland stages then slow the trip down rather than speeding it up — highland towns, villages, a crater lake at dawn. Doing it the other way round makes the sea feel like an afterthought.
