Four reasons to sail this way round

Komodo comes first. Manta Point, Pink Beach and the Padar viewpoint all land in the first 24 hours, in prime morning and golden-hour light rather than at the end of a tiring week.

The homeward logic. Landing in Lombok connects you onward in hours — the Gilis via Bangsal, or Bali by a short domestic flight.

Sunsets over the bow. Sailing west, every evening light show happens dead ahead of the boat. A small thing the eastbound crowd never sees.

A built-in rest day. Day two's long crossing toward Sumbawa is the recovery, so the whale sharks of Saleh Bay arrive on a fresh morning.
