Day by day

Three days, two nights aboard

The sequence matters more than the list. Anchoring inside the park is what puts you at Padar before the boats that left Labuan Bajo at dawn.

  1. 01

    Day 1 · Board and sail

    Airport transfer and boarding mid-morning. Kelor Island for the first swim and its short walk-up viewpoint, dragon trekking with a ranger on Rinca, then sunset at anchor as the flying foxes lift off Kalong.

  2. 02

    Day 2 · Padar, dragons, pink sand

    The Padar ridge at first light before the day fleet arrives. Pink Beach for a swim and casual snorkelling, a drift over the mantas at Karang Makassar, and the Taka Makassar sandbar in the afternoon.

  3. 03

    Day 3 · Slow return

    A sunrise swim and one last unhurried morning under sail, then disembark in Labuan Bajo before noon — in time for an afternoon flight to Bali.

What three days does not include

Flores itself. The island starts where the park boundary ends, and everything inland — Wae Rebo, the crater lakes, the highland villages — needs a fourth day at minimum and really a seventh.

A buffer. Three days is tight against flight delays. If your inbound is an afternoon arrival, treat this as a four-day plan and use the extra day around Labuan Bajo.

Serious diving. Two nights covers the central sites. The northern seamounts — Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Shotgun — need a liveaboard with more time and a tide table.
